Michael Owen is tipping Manchester United to continue their fine start to the Premier League season by beating Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils have been in fine form so far this term as they look to win the Premier League title in Jose Mourinho’s second campaign in charge at Old Trafford.
Manchester United were 4-0 winners over Everton at Old Trafford last weekend and they also booked their place in the fourth round of the League Cup with a comprehensive 4-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.
Mourinho’s men are currently joint top of the table with Manchester City heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures.
And former Liverpool striker Owen is tipping the Red Devils to have no problems against Southampton at St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon in the top flight.
Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “I expect Manchester United to claims all three points at the weekend, with Jose Mourinho’s side unopposable against Southampton on the south coast.
“The Red Devils are unbeaten in six Premier League visits to St Mary’s, winning four, and likely to extend that record at Southampton’s expense.”
Manchester United, who appointed Mourinho back in the summer of 2016, have not won the Premier League title since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson in the 2012-13 campaign.
The Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League table last season under Mourinho but won both the League Cup and the Europa League to secure a return to the Champions League for this season.
