‘It rains too much!’ – Agent urges midfielder to snub Manchester United transfer

Jorginho’s agent has spoken out amid speculation that the Napoli star is set for a move to the Premier League.

Reports claim that Manchester United held negotiations with Jorginho’s agent in January and it’s understood Manchester City are also interested in signing the 26-year-old midfielder.

Jose Mourinho is scouring the market for Michael Carrick’s long-term replacement at Old Trafford and Jorginho has emerged as a target for the Red Devils.

Recent speculation suggested that Jorginho’s representative, Joao Santos, travelled to Naples to get a new deal signed at the Stadio San Paolo but the football agent has denied the rumour.

Santos insists he was only in town to watch the clash with Lazio, telling Radio Crc: ‘Jorginho is fine, he’s always at Napoli’s disposal.

‘He’s fine with Sarri, he plays his role and he’s happy. On Saturday I will be at the San Paolo stadium, a very important match awaits us, we hope Fiorentina will succeed in getting a result against Juventus.

‘Right now I’m just here to see the Lazio game, we’re not talking about a renewal yet because we want to focus on the league.

Santos insists Jorginho is happy at Napoli and urged the midfielder to turn down a move to Manchester due to the bad weather.
‘From June he’ll have two years on his contract and maybe we’ll start discussing it then, it’s pointless messing with his head,’ he added.

‘The contract isn’t expiring any time soon, there’s time. He’s happy in Naples, Jorginho is happy and the city is very beautiful.

‘Manchester United and Manchester City? When you’re playing for the Serie A leaders it’s only logical that important teams will ask for updates: for example on the length of the contract.

‘I’m glad to come here [to Naples] too, it’s a very Brazilian climate. In Manchester it rains too often!’
