Paul Pogba has overcome the injury that ruled him out of Manchester United’s weekend win over Liverpool and is in the squad to face Sevilla on Tuesday.
The Frenchman was absent from Saturday’s 2-1 victory over the Merseysiders, having picked up a knock in the last few minutes of United’s final training session ahead of the game.
He had been a doubt for the crunch second-leg clash against Sevilla at Old Trafford in the Champions League, especially after he was not spotted in training on Monday.
However, Jose Mourinho allayed some of those fears in his press conference, explaining: ‘He trained a little bit after you left. I don’t know if he will be fit for tomorrow yet.’
Now the Manchester Evening News claim he has passed a late fitness test and is in the matchday squad, though whether he gets in the side is a different matter given how well United played in Pogba’s absence.
Anthony Martial has also been sidelined recently and he returns to the squad, though Marcus Rashford’s match-winning performance against Liverpool is likely to keep the Frenchman out of the side.
Despite previously saying that he was targeting the fixture against Sevilla as his comeback date, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not in the squad.
Man Utd squad to face Sevilla
Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira
Defenders: Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelöf, Chris Smalling, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young, Luke Shaw
Midfielders: Scott McTominay, Marouane Fellaini, Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard

Mourinho’s side drew 0-0 with Sevilla in the away leg and know that they must win on Tuesday night to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition, with a score draw enough for the Spaniard’s thanks to the away goals rule.
