Man Utd news: Zidane issues transfer demand, Mourinho agreed Real Madrid deal, Pogba claim

Zidane issues Man Utd demand
Manchester United face having to agree to a Zinedine Zidane transfer demand if they are to appoint him as Jose Mourinho’s successor.

The Frenchman remains the overwhelming favourite to replace Mourinho, despite recent comments made by his agent.

However, the Independent claim that Zidane moving to United hinges on whether Ed Woodward will meet his request.

The Frenchman wants a big say in transfers – having had little-to-no say on such deals at Real Madrid – if he is to make a premature return to management.

Mourinho agreed Real Madrid deal
Mourinho agreed to let David De Gea join Real Madrid last summer, a big report has claimed.

The Spain international’s contract situation at Old Trafford is up in the air with his current deal expiring in the summer – though the club can extend it by a further year.

Yet while many fans want him to stay, the Telegraph say Mourinho was happy to let him go a year ago.

Ultimately, though, Real chose to postpone their goalkeeping search by a year – before raiding Chelsea for Thibaut Courtois instead.

Pogba claim

Juventus have claimed they will not be looking to re-sign Paul Pogba.

The World Cup winner has been tipped to swap United for a sensational return to Turin.

But, speaking today, Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici ruled out a transfer.

“We love him very much,” Paratici said.

“We want him to do well since we are close to him but he isn’t a Juve player anymore.

“We’re connected to him, but we’ve never thought about it and we’re not going to think about it.”
