Paul Pogba has admitted that Jose Mourinho might have had a point about his lack of “focus” at Manchester United.
Mourinho stated this summer that the World Cup was ideal for Pogba as it allowed him to “focus”, to “only think about football”.
The midfielder was integral as France went on to lift the trophy in Russia, but his club form since has been patchy.
Pogba has played every Premier and Champions League game, scoring four goals and assisting three, but his relationship with Mourinho has been difficult.
Now back on international duty, he admits that he has indeed found it difficult to focus after the World Cup win.
“It’s hard to concentrate, to start again, to hit hard, because we touched the stars,” he told AFP.
“For us, it was the best trophy you can win as a footballer.
“But we like challenges too, we have goals. For example, I’ve never won the Premier League, that’s an objective. I’d like to do that.”
