Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji has admitted that he would be keen to play for Manchester United one day.
The 23-year-old, as quoted by Calciomercato, has been discussing what the future may hold for him as he continues to develop under the tutelage of Lucien Favre at Dortmund.
Akanji has established himself as an important player for the Bundesliga giants, amassing seven league appearances.
He has also started both of Dortmund’s Champions League group stage fixtures this season.
The Switzerland international is evidently enjoying his time in Germany but was quick to highlight one of his biggest ambitions as he looked ahead to the future.
Akanji revealed that one day, he would be keen to play for Premier League giants Manchester United, before insisting that a move away from Dortmund is not currently on his mind.
I am ambitious, I want to get as far as possible. One day I would like to wear the Manchester United shirt, but I do not think about it now.
The Red Devils were keen to sign a central defender in the summer transfer window and could be alerted by the recent comments from Dortmund star Akanji.
