Paul Pogba: Man Utd star sends message to fans amid Old Trafford exit rumours

PAUL POGBA has sent a message to Manchester United fans following the team’s second win on the bounce.

United made it two wins from two under Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer yesterday afternoon with a 3-1 win over relegation-threatened Huddersfield.

A second-half brace from Pogba and a Nemanja Matic strike saw Solskjaer win his first home match in charge of the Red Devils, whom he took charge of earlier this month.

Pogba has seemingly had a weight lifted off his shoulders since the appointment of Solskjaer, scoring two goals and bagging two assists in the Norwegian’s first two games in charge.

The France international was delighted to have got his name on the scoresheet and took to Twitter moments after the match to thank fans for their support.

“So happy for 3 points and 2 goals at home with our supporters and family there,” 25-year-old Pogba wrote.

“Have great (sic) blessed holidays everyone, loads of love.”

Solskjaer was delighted with Pogba’s performance and believes the Frenchman is starting show glimpses of his full potential now that he’s ‘happy’ with the environment at Old Trafford.

“That’s the Paul I have known since he was in the reserves and youth team,” Solskjaer said of Pogba.

“He’s always been a happy boy, a big smile on his face and when you score two you’re happy. It’s a response and Paul loves playing for this club.

“He’s a Manchester United boy through and through and knows what it means to play for the club.”

Wednesday’s match against Huddersfield was Solskjaer’s first at Old Trafford since he was installed as Jose Mourinho’s successor in a caretaker role.

“It’s humbling knowing I’m leading this team out,” the 45-year-old said of his home debut.

“Let’s see if I get used to it. I captained a couple of games but this was very different. They are the best fans in the world. I had such a great relationship with them.

“It was special hearing the crowd singing my song. It makes you really proud – and my family – and it’s a day I’ll never forget.

“I was surprisingly calm all day. The lads have helped me settle in really quickly.”

United will be back in action on Sunday afternoon, welcoming Bournemouth to the Theatre of Dreams.
